One of the best TV comedies
I saw the trailer for this show a while back and was instantly intrigued. Shot in a "mockumentary" style it follows the lives of three couples who's various members are related as family members. Although the set-up is slightly cliché, a gay couple, a stereotypical family and a Columbian wife and son (from her first marriage) with her American husband, this is where the standard ends. The dialogue is fantastic and at many points I found myself really laughing quite loudly, something which is very rare for a TV show to accomplish for me personally.

What an actress
I just last week saw Elizabeth (I know, it's been out a while.) and was quite impressed. Ms. Blanchett really becomes her character with persuasion in this well made drama. I can see why she got an Oscar nomination for the role. I would recommend this movie for anyone who appreciates quality acting and history.
Great actor
Denzel is a great actor. He is among the guys who given raws of being as nice guys in the most of the movies, but in the movie The Training Day he was the bad guy and he proved it that he can do the bad guy character also.
A new CIV
All the detail is still there but you need to look for it rather than it being in your face; so you can run a very streamlined campaign without getting into the nitty-gritty of which tile will the city work on this turn if you want, or you can micromanage to your heart's desire. "Policies" being tied to culture is cool, and I look forward to getting further into the game. I've played one campaign so far, and found most of the streamlining helpful.
Pros & Cons
Brutal and to the point
For those fans who know and love the books, then you can't help but love the TV adaptation. It is difficult to translate books into movies or TV series, but HBO's GoT made it look easy. The characters, cast, scenery, costume, etc., all looked incredible, and gave me the feeling that I was inside the books themselves. Although not every little detail was translated perfectly, and nor should they be, the pilot episode was a grand achievement.
What a disappointment
The most beautiful and graphically rich Civ ever is the most boring and tiresome to play. So many features have been removed or dumbed down from the late, great Civ IV it's hard to know where to start. Gone are religions, espionage, tech trading, stacking, city defenses, spending sliders, and more. The unique powers of leaders and wonders have been watered down. New are all manner of boring and annoying features like AI-governed mini-civs called city-states, buying tiles to expand city zones and hexagon-shaped tiles.
Back to Civ IV.
Great TV
Excellent design. I like the styling of this TV better than some of the older TOC models. Also the ultra slim design using the ultra slim Samsung mount keeps it very flush to the wall.
Pros & Cons
Beautiful and Luxurious!
Stayed 3 nights for a break to see friends and having tried many hotels in NYC finally chose the Mercer and it really is worth every penny. Booked a suite and was upgraded on arrival to a lovely high ceiling room on the 2nd floor facing the road. Bed very comfortable, great sheets, big bathroom with full size bath and shower. Friendly helpful service and good breakfast. Tried other hotels in the area including the Bowery and the Mercer is superior.

Good enough
Compared to Pegg and Frost's previous works ('Spaced', 'Shaun of the Dead' and 'Hot Fuzz') which in my opinion are classics, 'Paul' falls a little short. Some of the jokes, especially the toilet humor delivered by Rogan, fall flat. It's also lacking in wit. The pacing is a little slow in the first half but it picks up quickly in the latter portion. Plot holes are scattered throughout the movie.
In terms of execution, 'Paul' is quite well made. The title character looks amusing. The cross country location suits the setting. Cinematography is adequate.
Sleek
This is my first foray in the world of Apple after many years of dedicated PC ownership. So far I have been tremendously impressed with the new MacBook Pro. I got the i7 processor and the 7200 RPM 500GB hard drive as upgrades. I'm extremely happy with this purchase and have not regretted it at all. I am becoming a little more of a convert each day to OS X and just how easy it makes things. The thoughtful touches on the multi-touch trackpad alone are amazing to me. I come into work and feel frustrated that I cannot accomplish the same things with such ease.
